Encuentro Lagunas Transmission Line
The Encuentro-Lagunas transmission line, a double-circuit 220 kV line, began operating to strengthen the electrical system in the Norte Grande and decongest existing transmission lines in the area between the municipalities of Pozo Almonte and María Elena.
The project represented an investment of over US$100 million, which included the construction of 192 kilometers of 220 kV double-circuit line, with 443 high-voltage towers, as well as the expansion of the Encuentro and Lagunas substations. Two substations were expanded on both ends of the line, integrating the project management in EPC mode, complete project engineering and high-voltage equipment technology, control, protection, and communications.
