JAGUAR Connection
Jaguar Connection is the corporate sustainability program that ISA and its technical partners, South Pole and Panthera, are developing to contribute to the conservation of biodiversity and the mitigation of climate change. The program is carried out jointly with the farming communities and involves the implementation of the carbon component in forest recovery and preservation projects for the reduction of Greenhouse Gas Emissions -GHG-, in priority areas for the protection, recovery, and connection of natural habitats and jaguar corridors in Latin America, which coincide with the territories where ISA is present. In Chile, we refer to it as the puma corridor.
Since 2017, we have contributed valuable resources to finance the structuring and development of forest projects that must be internationally endorsed according to the Voluntary Carbon Markets, to issue “certified carbon bonds” to the public, which will be purchased not only by ISA but also by other companies worldwide.
The capital resulting from the commercialization of the bonds will be invested in formulating new projects that give continuity to the program and in actions for forest conservation, protection and monitoring of the jaguar, job creation, education, community infrastructure, among others.
